Lock In ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by Tigran Matikozyan as an individual developer based in Nevada, USA. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.

What we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the app:
- Account info. Your email address (and a password hash, if you sign up with email/password). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and a unique account identifier from those providers.
- Your content. The habits ("do's") you create, your completion history, and your streaks.
- Profile. Your display name and reminder preferences.
- Product analytics. Anonymous usage events (screens viewed, actions taken) collected via PostHog so we can understand how the app is used and improve it. This does not include the content of your habits.
- Device & diagnostics. If your iOS settings allow it, Apple may share crash logs with us. Firebase services log basic technical metadata (timestamps, request IDs, IP address at the time of request) as part of normal operation.
We do not collect: contacts, location, photos, advertising identifiers, or anything we don't explicitly list above.
How we use it
- Run your account (sign-in, sync your data across devices).
- Store your habits and serve them back to you.
- Send local reminder notifications you configure.
- Improve the app based on aggregate usage patterns.
- Process paid purchases (handled by Apple — we don't see your payment details).
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
Where your data lives
- Firebase (Google Cloud) — Authentication, Firestore (your habits and profile), Cloud Storage (any future media), and Remote Config. Hosted on Google's infrastructure in the United States.
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics.
- Apple — App Store purchases and receipts.
These providers act as data processors on our behalf. Their own privacy practices apply to the data we send them.
Future features
We plan to add social features (friends, leaderboards). When we do, certain profile information you opt to share — like your display name and stats — will become visible to other users. This policy will be updated before that ships, and any social sharing will be opt-in.
Your rights
- Access / export: email us and we'll provide a copy of your data.
- Delete your account: open the You tab → "Sign Out" or "Reset all do's", or delete your account from in-app settings. This removes your data from our systems within 30 days. You can also email us to request deletion.
- Correction: edit your profile fields directly in the app, or email us.
If you're in the EU/UK, you have additional rights under GDPR (objection, restriction, portability, lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority). If you're in California, you have rights under the CCPA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. To exercise any of these, email us.
Children
Lock In is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from them. If we learn we have, we'll delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures (Firebase security rules, encryption in transit, OAuth for sign-in). No system is perfectly secure — use a strong, unique password.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date above and let you know in-app or by email before the changes take effect.
